The Giotto Professional Figure Wheels are primarily used for the Long (Large) Circles, but can also be used for Loops. Most of the World level Figure competitors use the 63mm for the Large Circles and use combinations of hardnesses of the Giotto Professional Figure Wheel to achieve the best Skating result. Roll-Line has developed this wheel giving it properties that provide great roll with just the right amount of grip for figures. Compulsory Figures are high precision exercises. The feet transmit the impulses to the skating boot and thus to the steering (for the direction) and finally to the wheel (for contact with the skating surface). The Roll-Line Giotto Professional Figure Wheels (47D, 50D, 54D, 58D, and 61D) are a Lo-Profile wheel with exceptional Roll characteristics with extremely Close Tolerances for Roundness, Trueness, and for the Cage where the Bearings and Spacers are mounted. The Roll-Line Giotto Professional Figure Wheels are a MonoCompound Elastomeric ThermoPlastiche wheel, which is produced utilizing an injection system and is Silver Chromed.

The 50D, 54D, 58D, and 61D provide a great varying range of grip in the wheel material and is for a skating surfaces with a range of grip.
The wheel color identifies which hardness the wheel is.
Blue: 47D
Gray: 50D - soft - for slippery surfaces
Cream: 54D - medium - for fairly slippery surfaces
Yellow: 58D - medium hard - for regular surfaces
White: 61D - hard - for rough surfaces

In the USA, most skaters use the 61D, while stepping down to the 54D or sometimes the 58D for the inside toe wheels as additional Push Wheels.

The softer the wheel, or lower Shore "D" hardness number, the more the grip and slightly less roll. The harder the wheel, or higher Shore "D" number, the more the roll, with slightly less grip.
